IWD2015- Madam Tinubu (Generational legacies)

MADAME EFUNROYE TINUBU

The bravery and exploits of Madame Tinubu, the first Iyalode of Egbaland, are feats difficult to come  by today. She was so daring that she used her social and political influence to engage the colonial authorities, the African elite and traditional
rulers. Through her ideological and moral battles, she was able to renegotiate the roles and standings of women in Africa.

Today, when we consider the tenacity, doggedness, passion and leadership skills of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the role he has played in Nigeria's political arena, we cannot but look back to history to unearth the secret behind his success.

As we match forward to the 8th of March, the International Women's Day, we celebrate female heroism, commitments, managerial efficiency, and the efforts of women all over the world - past and present - constantly proffering solutions to the problems of the world - their world.
